KTM 250 SX-F

We dare anyone to find us a bike that has a better resume than the KTM 250 SX-F. Really, when you look at three consecutive MX2 world championship titles, it’s very difficult to top that, especially when the aforementioned 250 SX-F has been improved compared to its predecessor.

The new 250 SX-F is now available with a revamped chassis and an electric starter that proves its worth in many situations, turning the bike with the smallest four-stroke in the KTM MX range into a certified, world-class, championship-caliber moto cross bike.

The 250 SX-F’s compact, state-of-the-art DOHC four-stroke engine has been derived directly from the Marvin Musquin’s world championship bike, which means that it’s bigger and better than ever before. The 2012 model year of the 250 SX-F also comes with a new electric starter that excels with an extremely wide usable rev range and powerful performance from the bottom end up to beyond the nominal engine speed.

The 250 SX-F also has a new technology in the form of a Keihin engine management system with electronic fuel injection and electronic throttle valve control, ensuring spontaneous responsiveness and maximum performance from the engine.

As far as handling is concerned, the 250 SX-F’s state-of-the-art frame is made from high-quality chrome-molybdenum steel, a material that’s both lightweight and extremely durable, providing balanced geometry that combines playful handling with razor-sharp precision. The 250 SX-F’s linkage rear suspension bolsters playful handling and extreme traction while a lightweight aluminum swing arm has been designed for optimum lateral stiffness while the linkage of the now more tautly-set WP shock absorber via a lever system provides high progressiveness and wide adjustment ranges.

There’s plenty to love about the KTM 250 SX-F. The fact that it has a history of championship success only makes this bike that much more attractive to young and up-and-coming riders.

Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 by Prindiville Design

When a super car like the Lamborghini Aventador gets launched onto the market, tuning companies are just foaming at the mouth to get an opportunity to transform into something even better. Not many have had the opportunity, but one more is joining that short list with the beginning of an extensive package. British tuner, Prindiville Design, have opted to change the appearance of the Aventador, but have mostly focused on reducing the super car’s total weight.

The tuner started the package by improving the car’s aerodynamics with new front and rear bumpers, new front and rear bumper grilles, new side skirts, and mirror covers. All of these additions are made of carbon fiber, but, according to the tuner, they are about 65% lighter than the ones found in the standard model. However, opting to change them can get pretty expensive as the front and bumper alone will cost a customer £11,000 (about $17,000 at the current exchange rates). The next step that was taken was to add a new set of alloy wheels in any desired color or design.

Aside from aesthetics, the Aventador also received a high performance titanium exhaust system that is about 80% lighter than the standard one, sports 200 cell catalytic converters, ECU tuning, mapping, programming, and chip tuning. Prindiville has yet to reveal how these changes will improve the engine’s output, so we can only imagine the power boost it has received. The package continues with a new suspension setup including fully adjustable systems designed for road and track.

Starbucks supports gay marriage

Starbucks has come out in support of a bill that would make Washington the seventh U.S. state to legalize gay marriage. The company joins fellow Pacific Northwest-based firms including Microsoft and Nike in backing the bill, which also has support from Gov. Christine Gregoire and is close to passage in the state's House and Senate. Gregoire has previously called corporate support for the bill "courageous and appreciated." Starbucks said in a statement Tuesday that it was "proud to join other leading Northwest employers in support of Washington state legislation recognizing marriage equality for same-sex couples." "This important legislation is aligned with Starbucks' business practices and upholds our belief in the equal treatment of partners," the statement read.

Most powerful M6 on its way while BMW M subsidiary continues to consider its own supercar

The new generation BMW M6 is preparing to rev its way to dealerships in Summer 2012 after its debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March and its promising to be the most powerful super-coupe in BMW’s history. Its twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 engine with 552 HP and 502 lb ft of torque makes it capable of running its owner to their job on a daily basis, as well as running the track in superior fashion. That being said, a BMW insider has stated that the M6 should not be referred to as a "pure sports car." That designation should be left to the super car that the BMW M Division is trying to develop, again.

"M wants to build its own car. BMW has a great heritage of super-coupés and the M6 is the latest part of that. But we also want to do something that we can call a ’super sports car’."

By the time this M Division super car is ready to be launched, BMW is hoping it will take on vehicles like the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG with ease. BMW and its M Division have been trying to come up with a business case for the future super car for a long time, using the BMW M1 Hommage (pictured above) as a starting point. When that concept first debuted in 2008, it was rumored to get a powerful V10 5.0 liter engine capable of delivering 600+ HP, even though the original 1978 BMW M1 only pushed out 270 HP.

We figure that if BMW can attempt at least a happy medium between the original 270 HP and the rumored 600 HP, then the M Division’s super car may be a tough contender in the tough "pure sports car" market. Let us know what you think in the comments section below!
